On stage, Matt has starred as John Caleo in the original stage version of HOLDING THE MAN for Griffin Theatre Company, Opera House, Company B, Melbourne Theatre Company and he reprised this role at the Trafalgar Theatre in London’s West End.
Matthew’s other theatre credits include OPENING NIGHT (Belvoir) THE BULL, THE MOON AND THE CORONET OF STARS (Griffin), BETRAYAL, BECKY SHAW and SEMINAR (Ensemble), 10,000 BEERS (Darlinghurst), SATURN’S RETURN (STC) and EMBERS (STC).
He has produced and staged many theatre productions at Sydney’s Old Fitzroy Theatre and Griffin Theatre Company including THIS IS OUR YOUTH by Kenneth Lonergan, NINJA, TINY DYNAMITE and LITTLE MALCOLM.
Matthew co-wrote, produced, directed and starred in the feature film BURKE & WILLS which premiered at TriBeCa film festival in New York. As well as SUPER-AWESOME! which premiered at the Inside Out Festival in Toronto.
Other film credits as an actor include ALL MY FRIENDS ARE LEAVING BRISBANE, SOLO, STRANGERS LOVERS KILLERS, CIRCLE OF LIES, THE LAND, AIM HIGH IN CREATION and GODEL INCOMPLETE opposite Elizabeth Debicki.
His television credits include SPOOKY FILES, HARDBALL, HOME & AWAY, DR FEELGOOD, MISS FISHER’S MURDER MYSTERIES, the critically acclaimed Foxtel series SECRET CITY and the ABC Easybeats mini-series FRIDAY ON MY MIND. UNDERBELLY FILES: THE MAN WHO GOT AWAY, FATAL HONEYMOON, HOGES, ELEGANT GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO KNIFE FIGHTING, THE SURGEON, CHANDON PICTURES, ALL SAINTS and SMALL CLAIMS.

Matt has produced, directed and acted in many short films, including HARDBALL (Tropfest finalist 2016) and CHEAP RENT. Other short films of note are the Tropfest finalist, NO DICE HOLLYWOOD
He is a published kids book author with two book series - ZOO CREW with Scholastic, and ZOMBIE DIARIES with Hardie Grant.
